What color dress is she wearing? The corsage flowers do not have to match the dress shade exactly but should coordinate nicely with the color. If you don't know the color of the dress, don't default to a white corsage. White corsages rarely show detail in pictures, wear out faster than other flower colors, and dilute color...as opposed to ENHANCING color. Try a corsage with multiple colors!
What style is the dress? Clubby & Hot, Romantic & Soft, or maybe Dark & Sophisticated? This information helps the designer choose what sort of ribbon and greenery to add to the corsage. Often times it's the floral "Supporting Cast Members" that make the biggest difference from your red rose corsage and the other red rose corsage that your friend is wearing.
What handsome color ensemble is he wearing? If he's wearing a black tux, opt for a ribbon that will stand out against it. As for the flower, try and see if you can coordinate the flowers for the boutonniere with the flowers in the corsage. This makes for a more cohesive look and everyone will know who you walked in with ;)
How can you "pimp" it out? If your dress is printed with animal patterns, polka dots, or piped trim...tell your designer! It's always possible to add an additional pop to the boutonniere that makes it your own!
Time for the Big Night!
It's best to order at least a week beforehand. Tell your designer what is the most important thing to you...flowers that dry nicely, smell delicious, match your eye shadow? Trust your floral designer to know what flowers will hold up the best throughout all the dancing, chest-bumping, and after party dessert shoveling.
